ShortCuts Window Card Tutorial!

Good morning ladies!!   Today I have a ShortCuts window card tutorial for you! Most of you know i’m sure, that making cards is my first love.. ;) Well i’m going to show you how to create a window card using the ShortCuts Full Clear/Frosted sheets! Let’s get to it!

Materials:

- Full Frosted/Clear ShortCuts Sheet

- Alphabet stickers etc..

- Misc. Blossoms

- Buttons & embroidery thread

- Border Punch

- Matching pp cut to 4.75 x 4.75″

- Contrasting CS to base cut to 4.75 x 4.75″

- Strip of pp 1 1/2″ x 5″

- 5×10″ Cardstock base

- Tag

- Rub-on flourish

***

Step One:

Fold your CS base in half. You should now have a 5×5 card. Now open the card inside out and measure inwards on all 4 sides 1″. Draw with pencil lines then where your corners meet, cut out a window in your card using an exacto knife & ruler.

Step Two:

Cut your clear/frosted sheet to 4.75 x 4.75″. Flip over your CS base, apply adhesive, and apply frosted/clear square as shown:

Step Three:

Now take your 4.75 x 4.75″ pc of patterned paper and do the same as you did with the CS card base only measuring in on all 4 sides at 7/8th”. Using pencil lines for your grid, then cut out your window with an exacto knife & ruler. If you’re not comfortable using an exacto knife, just use scissors and trim slowly so you get straight lines.

*Note: Be sure to do the pencil lines on the backside of your pp so you don’t have pencils showing on your pp! ;)

Step Four:

Adhere paper window to the front of your card base as shown:

Step Five:

Apply alphabet stickers on your tag to spell whatever you’d like. ;) I chose to make a ‘Thanks” card.

Step Six:

Thread your buttons with embroidery thread and apply to blossoms with glue dots as shown:

Step Seven:

Apply tag to bottom of right hand card, and adhere a couple blossoms to the left hand side of the sentiment:

Step Eight:

Now lets move onto the inside of your card.. take your 1 1/2 x 5″ pc of pp and punch with your deco. edge punch. Adhere it to the bottom of your white pc of 4.75 x 4.75″ cs. Apply blossom & bling as shown:

Step Nine:

Now back to the front of your card.. take the last of your blossoms and adhere them to the upper left hand corner of your card, apply rub-on to your clear/frosted window as shown and you are finished!! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!! Please link me up so I can take a peek at your finished cards!! Have fun!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my card tutorial! If you decide to try this out, please come back and link me up so I can take a peek at your card!!! Have a wonderful day ladies!
