Morning ladies!!
Hope everyone is having a good morning so far! Today I have my first ShortCuts tutorial! I’ve actually had this done for a while and keep meaning to post but have been so busy…. so today is the day!
On my last post I made an altered notebook, and am always using notebooks as I noticed others are, so I figured i’d show you how to make an altered notebook using the clear/frosted ShortCuts sheets! I chose to use a frosted full sheet for my notebook!
Let’s get going shall we?
Materials:
- ShortCuts Full Clear *OR* Frosted sheet
- Coil Bound notebook
- Scraps of pp
- Embellishments
- Alphabet letters spelling ‘to do’, ‘notes’, etc…
- Ribbon
- Gems
- Edge punch
- Cropodile
- Adhesive

Step 1:
You’ll need to ‘unbend’ the end coils.. just the very tip of both sides as shown:

Step 2: Unwind coil by twisting it out as shown… do not bend/toss away the coil as you’ll need it again.

Step 3: Measure your notebook and cut your frosted card to fit the cover. Place under the cover, and place over loose notebook paper as shown. Punch holes with your cropodile as shown until all holes have been punched.

Step 4: Insert Coil back into notebook & close end coils again.

Step Five: Cut 3 strips of pp, if you like on the bottom pc. of pp, use a deco. punch to ‘pretty it up’.
Adhere to notebook cover.

Step 6: Wrap around ribbon, tie in bow, and attach charm, blossom, or button.

Step Seven: Adhere your alpha stickers, rubs, etc… as desired and voila! A handy dandy notebook to write all your ‘to do’ lists in!

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial! Please link me up if you try this out so I can take a peek! I’ll post the winner of my altered notebook from the other day tomorrow… so if you haven’t commented yet, check out my last post!
Have a wonderful day!! Oh… I thought i’d share a pic of my cat, Cat. Took this with my snazzy new D90… I can’t wait to get out and play but soooo cold now i’m waiting for it to thaw out a bit… brr!

Hi Carla, great tutorial and I will try this one day. I love cats. Mine sleeps on my bed at night. Sometimes I wake up and find her sitting on my stomach and the moment I then open my eyes she starts to purr, silly cat.
Your beautiful 2009 card arrived. It hangs over my desk. Thanks again.
