Hi Carla,
That’s a generous and fun bunch of candy! Congrats for the cards/creations getting accepted into publication – that must be a huge thrill! I guess one of the little things that makes me happy – yes, dh kisses are right there at the top of the list, but even better, is seeing one of my kids do something nice for someone else. It makes me feel so good inside to know that they CAN be loving, helpful beings toward someone (maybe not to each other – but hopefully that will change).
Comment by Elaine — September 14, 2008 @ 12:08 pm
OMG, that Christmas paper IS SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!!! Where can my get my grubby paws on some???
Your cards are out of this world gorgeous!!
Some of my favorite things are poems that my grade 6 students write. On Friday, they wrote poems, Autumn poems! Absolutely amazing. Beautiful stuff!!! I love poems and when they are written wonderfully, it touches my heart. I love it when that happens! And I told them that their poems really touched me and sent tingles down my spine! I’ll have to type some of them up and post them on my blog next week!

wow now that is candy!!! Loevly cards!
my favorite things…
~the way my kids smell just after a bath and how their blankets smell like them.
~the smell of coffee brewing in the morning and how that first cup peels the sleep from my eyes.
~spending time with my husband when the kids are in bed and we can actually hear each other talk.
~ when the weather is warm enough to wear flip flops everyday!
I could go on and on!
Comment by Tomie — September 14, 2008 @ 12:32 pm
One of my favorite things is spending the day with DH and all 4 kids. I love fall so I am really looking forward trips to pumpkin patch, apple orchard, raking leaves, making soups and pumpkins bars, and dressing up for Halloween — we are all (all 6 of us) going to be pirates except the baby she’s going to be a parrot. I love stuff like that.
Love you site, I’m fairly new to and your cards are breath-taking!
Comment by Mindy — September 14, 2008 @ 12:36 pm
Such awesome RAK….things that make me say ahhhhh…..hearing my granddaughter say Nana….blowing me kisses thru the phone, my dog when he is so happy to see me, my dog playing with his ball, DH…just being himself….My children calling me….this could be an extensive list…but that’s all I will say for now

Congrats (again) on the triple toot!! So well-deserved. And that blog candy….yummy. Your Xmas cards are gorgeous….as always. What are my favorite things? Well….I can name 100+ things, but one of the things are the little notes that my 7-year old leaves me and my BF. She was in 1st grade last year and learned to read and write. Since she can write she leaves me sticky notes on my computer or scrap desk telling me that I am the best and dearest mom in the world.
Comment by Ingrid — September 14, 2008 @ 1:20 pm
Love the Christmas Cards, Carla… And Congrats on the triple toot..!! And YUMMY candy.. Would like some for myself..
My favorite things? When my granddaughter comes with a Big Hug and says, I LOVE YOU GRAMMA!!! And when my 23 year old son puts his arm around me and says, “MOM”?? I knowhe wants something but what?? lolol

Carla! Toot after toot, girl, you are on the roll! Congrats to you.
And wow, that blog candy looks great, look at those lovely pearls, chipboard, ribbon and all the other fun stuff.
I just had a lovely meeting with my family. When my sister and I were young, we argued all the time and weren’t friends together, but the older we get the better our relationship becomes.
We just had dinner with the whole family and I saw my parents enjoying the club and that made me very happy.
Comment by JokeBK — September 14, 2008 @ 1:38 pm
Of course my husband and children are tops on my “favorites” list. But if your looking for one of the little things in life which put a smile on my face it would have to be The Body Shop’s Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray. One spritz totally refreshes my feet after a long day.
Comment by Linda E — September 14, 2008 @ 1:43 pm

Beautiful cards.
I love the quiet of mornings, before everyone gets up. When all you hear are the birds in the trees outside. A perfect way to start the day!
Comment by Cass — September 14, 2008 @ 3:22 pm
My, not scrap related thing, would have to be flowers. Be it the dandelions the girls pick from the backyard or sunflowers my husband snaps up from the side of the road. I love them! I love the way they seem to freshen up a house. They are always a great conversation starter, and are a beautiful addition to any room. Before going for professional photos, I stop and grab an arrangement from our local Target. They are great additions to photos as well! Add character!!
Great give away, and congrats on one year!!

Here’s just one…our 2 yr. old daughter still sleeps with us and I love snuggling up to her when I get in bed. So soft and cozy! Love the use of non-traditional colors for those Christmas cards. And all of that publishing….you’re awesome!
Favorite things, hmmm… Outside of the waiting, picking DH up at the airport when he comes back from being gone would probably rank the highest — that look I get from him, and just how good it feels having him back. Hugs from my students (3rd grade, 8-years-old) ranks right up there too. Some of them run to the bus at the end of the day and then turn back around to run and hug me. Oh, man, does that feel good. It makes the trials of the day worth it.

What makes me happy is spending time with my hubby. We’ve been married more than 23 years, and more than ever we love spending time together, doing new things together, it’s really wonderful. That said, probably right now I love the times we are spending on the trails and greenways on our Trikkes, or maybe on the water in our canoe. That’s real quality time for both of us. Thanks for asking, and thanks for the great blog candy you’ll be giving away! Becky G.

And that candy – VERY scrumptious! Ok here are some of my favorite things: Listening to my one year old giggle uncontrollably, going for a good run with some music on my ipod, drinking a Starbucks coffee early in the morning, and one last one for you – snuggling up under a blanket on a cold night.

Your blog candy looks SO delicious!!! Thanks so much for offering up such a sweet treat for one lucky winner.
The things that make my heart smile most are: big family gatherings, hearing my kids laugh, snuggling with my hubby, sipping hot chocolate by a warm fire, seeing the colorful display of autumn leaves and watching snow fall, and playing with my stamping supplies. ;D

Hi Carla,
Loving all your new stuff! Not sure how you find the time with your family to look after, i guess you must be super organised!! unlike me
I have lots of favourite things, but at the moment my most favourite is my GD, especially when she flings her arms around my neck and says ‘I love you Nanma (she can’t say Grandma at the moment!)

Wahoo! AWESOME blog candy to go with your FABULOUS blog. One of my favorite things are Monarch butterflies. My mom was a Kindergarten teacher and would bring caterpillars into her classroom and teach the miracle of metamorphosis. Of course, I got to play along as well. As an adult I seek out the caterpillars and pass along the wonder to my coworkers and friends. Monarchs are always a special connection for me to my mom!

I just found your blog a couple of days ago! All I can say is WOW!!!
I have lots of favorites right now – of course Fall is just fabulous. New food combinations that I have grown to like (cottage cheese with cut up strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and Almond Nut Crunch cereal sprinkled on top for breakfast everyday is something I look forward to), seeing school buses (this is kind of mean – but I am glad the kids are back in school so I don’t have to hear the wild neighbor kids all day long
LOL!
But my absolute favorite has to be my Nicholas – he is 14 months old…. and he is a character – he has the most silly personality… and his laugh – I cannot describe in words his laugh…. We could be having the WORST day….. he finds something funny and he starts to giggle which turns into the full belly laugh – it makes me soo happy.
Everything about him makes me happy – he is in that stage where soo many things are still new…. when he finds something he didn’t notice before or he figures out how to do something new – he always turns to look at me – as if he is saying “Mama did ya see me???” and he gets this big ol’ grin on his face that just makes me melt

The best thing to always put a smile on my face is whenever I lay down to go to sleep dh tucks me in. He makes sure I am comfy, that I have my little stuffed webkinz pig just the way I like and that the blanket is tucked just right under my chin. He faithfully does it because he knows how happy and loved it makes me feel.

Hi Carla: Amazing cards, each one just beautiful.
Congrats on the blogaversary. We celebrate the same month. You were the first one to ever win blog candy from me and thank goodness because now I get to know you. I just adore your style of cardmaking. I have seen through this last year how you grow from one project to another and how your style changes to become even more beautiful with each new creation. With all of this said, you very much deserve the Toots you have been receiving and I am a huge fan. Keep tootin’ Carla…I would like an autographed magazine please LOL>
Hugs,
Bela

Some of my favorite things are of course chocolate, gardening, a good thunderstorm with a wonderful smelling candle burning, a clean house, having the clean house to myself and a good cup of coffee. I guess I should have put the coffee and chocolate together. It’s not too often that I get the house to myself anymore. I used to have at least 2 hours every day until my husband came home from work. Since he had a stroke 3 years ago and is unable to work he very seldom is away from the house. I try to remind myself often that be “careful what you wish for” because wanting to have the quiet time and house to myself could have very well meant that he would not have survived the stroke and I would have been alone 24/7. We don’t always get things in the shape of form we wish for.
Happy anniversary and thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Thanks for this opportunity for the yummy candy.
